Successfully funded on Karolinafund, this book is a collection of 100 paintings by Amy Riches of the volcanic eruption in Fagradalsfjall. Spanning its activity from the very beginning on the 20th March through to August, they were painted mostly in oils, some in gouache, in an A5 sketchbook, with the milestones 50 and 100 painted on larger canvases. All of them have been collated together and presented in this book in full colour where people can see the amazing process and changes of the volcano through the eyes of the artist. You can also see some "behind the scenes" photos and process shots of how Amy paints.

The soft cover book spans 120 pages and is 17x21cm in size, printed on quality magnum satin paper in Reykjavik, Iceland. There is not a lot of text in the book, but it will be in English.

THE STORY
The project started on the 20th of March 2021, the day after the volcanic eruption in Fagradalsfjall started. The artist, Amy Riches, was so fascinated by the eruption that she decided to paint one painting a day of the volcano while it remained active, or at least for 100 days if it would live longer. The first 50 paintings were painted everyday and cover the first 50 days of the eruption from the 20th March - 8th May. At that point the eruption had started to stabilise and looked very similar most days, so for the next 50 days Amy picked out the most interesting days to paint. Amy went to the volcano twice to paint on location 'en plein air' but the other paintings were painted through Icelandic news RÚV and MBL's webcams.
