THE STORY
Vífilsfell is a beautiful mountain close to the city of Reykjavik. It was formed in an eruption under a glacier during the Ice age. The mountain is named after the founder of Iceland’s slave Viifis. He was given his freedom and lived in a house close by and is said to have run up the mountain to check the weather.
